Firmguard Problem
« on: February 03, 2020, 02:23:00 AM »

I bought my 360 a while back, and flashed it with Ixtreme 1.2rev2 (slow).  Afterwards, my drive has shown up as a ms28.  This has worked fine for me so far, playing backups that I had previously made, as well as all originals, movies, etc.  However, I need to backup more games now, and I'm not able to reflash my drive to a firmware that I can use to create backups.  I've tried a lot of different discs (DVD+R DL bitset to DVD-ROM and burned with CloneCD, DVD-R bitset to DVD-ROM burned with ImgBurn, I've even tried it on a CD).  I've spent hours searching this and other sites, and made a lot of expensive coasters and I'm just looking for some help before I resort to buying a VIA board.  My NF4 has worked fine with flashing it, but I just can't seem to disable Firmguard.  When I try to flash it, I get the 'Status = 51, should be 70' error. Can anybody help me?  Thanks in advance,

You sure your using the disk correctly? Does it read the drive key fine?

You need to let it spin up for about 20 seconds until you dont hear the laser moving anymore. You have to do it again when u turn off your 360 otherwise it will enable firmguard again. The firmware uses MS28 security methods i remember reading but i bought my 360 preflashed with Xtreme firmware and updated it to 1.4 Ixtreme a couple of months ago it worked fine with my NF4 Ultra board.
