Samsung Flashing Middle Light After Flash
« on: April 14, 2008, 12:39:00 PM »

hey everyone.  I am looking for some help since I am trying to flash my ms28.  I had been getting error n65 but managed to get past that with hotswap....I now boot to dash after successful flash but tray ejects on it's own and the center xbox 360 led light keeps blinking.  Has anyone ever encountered this?   After flash I can't seem execute dsam command successfully to take a look at what gets on there.  A frien said it is stuck somehow.  Has anyone encountered this before?

I think MS25 are unbrickable, and without blowing my own trumptet....Ive never encountered a bricked drive.

It'll be recoverable in a programmer Id think

Some bad flashed Samsungs can be unbricked with the VCC trick (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
There was a tutorial on here written by AndyHewitt if you can find it.

yeah i totally hear you on that tut read it word for word.  Originally imy 360 lost power mid flash and i had error 65.  I followed that tut hotswapped and now tthe same ms28 which wasnt bootingt to dash tray wpould not open is now booting to dash and ejecting with middle ligfht blinking.
Have tried reflash sveral times but can never manage to erase it.  I can trick it back to error 65 though.  I am not using a usb drive i am using a produo stick in my pc's card reader (iprp did not like my usb key) i am going to try at a bud's house on wed with his usb drive and his xp pc mine iis vista.  If anyone reflashed something like this please post thx.....

I see you have sorted the Hitachi out in the other thread.

To try and recover the Samsung, try using this command.

When at iPrep's C:/>  Prompt

CODE
cd tools

Press enter, you should now be at C:/Tools>

Then type this command

CODE
mtkflash e /sata

Press Enter

This should erase your firmware.

Then try writing the original firmware to it, or the hacked one.

If this doesnt work, you could use Dosflash to erase the firmware.
