When you say boot off of iso, do you mean a NTFS4DOS boot cd. If not STOP, you can't write to the CD and you will loose you key...

Status 0x7F is the first status you should get, it means can't find drive, which is OK as you should have it turned off.... Turn it on and status should alternate 0x51, 0xD1, then turn off the drive, status should stay at 0xD1, turn on again after 2 seconds and the should go 0x73 and reading should commence..

what i had to do was turn my xbox right after it loaded it and then it worked for me i dont know just a thought
