Benq Won't Recognize On Iprep
« on: April 07, 2008, 11:08:00 PM »

I am trying to at least read the firmware on my benq dvd drive on my 360 using iprep.  I am currently using Vista 32 and I have the sy-via-150 sata controller installed with the 5.70a drivers (most up-to-date).  I also have an NForce4 Sata host controller on my computer.

I am using the textbook.pdf for instructions.  By using iprep, a bootable usb drive, and a speicific port on the sy-via-150 sata card, I am able to get my computer to display the status of 0x00.  All my other attempts with other ports ended with 0xff.  From forum postings, it sounds like 0x00 is a sign that the drive is recognized, but I am unable to get responses for a 0xD1 status.  It won't change for me at all.  I'm hoping I can get suggestions.

Btw, I still have 3 ports on my NForce4 sata which I may try.  I only tried 3/4 corner ports assuming one would be the first or last.

Nevermind, pretty sure I found the answer to my problem in this posting.  My intel chipset requires me to boot the xbox on the startup to dos differently than textbooks.pdf says.
