News From Openmugen
« on: April 04, 2005, 01:24:00 PM »

Ok it a long time ago since my last post but here are some news of OpenMugen.

First we have a new WebSite design look at
http://openmugen.sourceforge.net/

Second is that we have done some progress of OpenMugen and
released a PreAlphaDemo to show this progress.
You can download it in ouer WebSite.

And last but not least we have new screen shots.
2 of the screen shots are from the XBOX version.

But now something about the XBOX version.
Please do not ask for a release!!
A xbox version will be aviable when the game is playable and fully working.
Do not worry. When the code is done it is easy to port it belive me.

By the way look to ouer page time by time for updates.

PS. remeber it is only a demo not a fully working game.

Looks nice. I think this qualifies as a newspost, you could try asking on of the newseditors ( http://www.xbox-scene.com/about.php ) if you want to warmup the crowd :)

Nice to hear the project is still going.  Since it's been so long since you last posted here I thought the project had died. <

will character making be a standardized format?

the reason I ask is because with past mugens some chars don't work with uptodate releases because they were badly put together or slapped together for the release they where made on. <

We uses the lastes dos/linux version of mugen as a reference so all chars wich are written for mugen should work wit openmugen. <

From the other thread:
And i am a turkish male which lifes in germany not hindi.

Ey alda, was gehdn, hassu fedd krass eine 3er BMW odda was;)
Scherz beiseite - super Projekt! Weiter so!

Great project - i was looking foward to this since the first day it was announced.
I hope that your version will support all kind of MUGEN chars (from all the different MUEGN versions - or maybe have some kind of conversion tool) - as the original MUGEN didnt support "older versioned" chars.

And what would also rock is a real 4-player mode - or a mode aka World Tour in SFA3 on PSX where you had to fight several enemys at the same time :)

Anyway - fantasic :)

*edit*
I guess you have heard of the innofficial WinMugen patch? http://www.attic7.com/unofficial/
*edit*

Nice work Sakir, but what will Mugen characters made for both the DOS and Linux/Windows versions work? Because it would be nice to utilize all those hundreds of old characters that don't necessarily work right in the new build. <

To say it again

We uses the lastes dos/linux version of mugen as a reference so all chars wich are written for mugen should work wit openmugen.
WinMugen is not existent for me to use it as a reference.
And for now openmugen will not support old version chars for mugen.
Please update them!
