So, if you've read the title, you probably know two things already 1) I own only a laptop computer, and 2) My BOX (v 1.0) is softmodded (memcard UDE1).

A chip is in my not too distant future, but meanwhile, I'd love to upgrade my HDD.  Is anyone aware of some obscure HD upgrade method that doesn't require a chip or computer?  Like softmod into Evox, swap, and format, maybe?  Probably not, but I've scoured a while and figured  I'd ask before giving up.
