Hitachi Drive Failed So Benq Replacement
« on: February 03, 2020, 03:16:00 PM »

A while ago my 360 stopped reading and disk media (games, dvd, music cd's) so i set about finding a replacement, my olddrive is a hitachi and i managed to aquire a Phillips-Benq drive from someone who had a banned 360 that wasnt being used.

I have been reading a load of posts here and found i need to replace the dvd key to match my 360, problem is i can find anything about inserting a hitachi dvd key into the phillips/benq drive.

Is it even possible to do this or am i just gonna have to buy a closer model drive to my own?

The banned 360 had a samsung but got changed to a phillps/benq after going to microsoft for a 3rrod problem, the fw is standard on both drives.

What you want to do is all very possible... You'll find all you need in textbooks tutorial.. You'll need to spoof the replacement drive to appear as the old one, you'll find that in the 79 section
