360 Flashing On Phillips Drive
« on: January 29, 2008, 04:55:00 PM »

Hey!

I brought a 360 about a month ago,

i used to have an xbox and i've hit a bit of a problem, not my brother is forever leaving all my games out of the cases and they become scratched and the xbox struggles to read sometimes.

I can make backup copys of these so i am still able to play them on the console, i know how to do that.

My problem is flashing or enabling my xbox 360 to play such games.  I cannot find a way at all, i can comfirm that i have the philips drive.

Can anyone out there give me a push in the right direction??

Thanks in advance!

You should find a load of help in this thread :

http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=513412

It is FULL of tutorials as to which version of firmware to use (currently IXtreme v1.4) and what methods to use in order to connect the philps/Benq drive to the PC (best use a Via chipset SATA card). Also how to backup the DVD drvies firmware and drive key and then how to flash the drive with the moified firmware.

All the info you need is contained within the tutorials and links within that section.

Tis amazing what you can find on this forum when you read, read and read some more.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

I was gonna add "Be careful about asking such questions when your a noob to this XBOX360 forum (and most others), as it could land you in hot water"

However it looks like I was way to late  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

There is a LOAD of stuff on this forum, and it's the best one to use to get the facts straight - I don't even bother with any of the others now.

You just need to do loads of reading - and then more reading - it takes hours if not days - but you WILL find your answer - because 100's of other people have already asked the same question.

That's why you got the 'other' answer 1st.

Try the 'Search' button at the top right of the page, it's great at finding stuff on here - but you will still have to read loads of posts to find what you are looking for - but then again that's why we are all here - to help each other.  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
