Help With Hitachi 79 Passkey

does anybody know if the hitachi 79fk goes into mode B without the passkey.
i have installed the passkey and there is no light comming on but it will go into mode B
when i try to flash with 360FW-Toolbox-45 it says cannot read from drive.
if anybody could help it would be much appreciated

The light needs to come on. If it doesnt you need to check your install.

is there anybody out there with the full install tutorial on the passkey.
the links for the tutorial in the textbook wont work for me or the links on any of the sites that sell it
it is rapid share and it doent work
is there more than one wire to solder because the deiagram i have only shows 1

I believe the 79 series will go into Mode B without the passkey, but without the passkey you can forget dumping the firmware or extracting your key.

I don't even dick around with the passkey anymore. I have the tools to take the flashchip off and
program it and then solder it back on..

I'm looking to locate a socket to solder on the DVD control board that allows you to just pop the firmware out and flash as needed.. might have to dremmel out a part of the bottom cover to allow it to fit, but it would end the hassels with soldering...

Might need to power it a few times before the light shows, though?

how tight is the timing with those chips? Might even be able to get away with using a couple flat cables with the correct pitch and some form of pressure mounting.
