hi i will try and make this short

i got a 360 with 79fl drive and tried to install the passkey with flat cabel and melted the socket then i removed the socket and the tracks came with it. so now i have no way of installing the passkay the drive still works what can i do to flash my drive now?

If you have a programmer you could remove the flash chip & read/write it on the programmer.

You could try soldering use the old way, where instead of the ribbon, you solder the 9 wires to the varios points around the board...
Which passkey do you have, just google it and you'll find the install...

i have a v1.1 maximus i perchest it from here.
the website ses it must be install on the same place as the flat cable is there any external coders in australia that will do the 79fl's as you may have gessed my soldering skills are not good at all

I have repaired two xbox 360 dvd drives 79fk and 79fl.

It is in finnish language put yuo can check the pictures how to do it.
