Samsung Ms28 Ixtreme 1.4 Help Please

ok so i dont have a problem flashing the ms28. i have a problem playing my back ups. all of them work flawlessly on my Hitachi-LG GDR3120L no problem but in my samsung ms28 it will only read some of them and it is slow as heck.but some will not read at all. i have flashed it with iextreme 1.4.the drive will make noise and everything but if i put the original firmware it is fine. now remember it will play some back ups and some it will not all of the backups have been put on to a TDK DVD+R DL and burnt with Clone CD if anyone has anything in mind please tell me thank you
