Hey everyone,
i started having a problem with my hitachi 47d drive.. I flashed it with Maximus-Garyopa_XTRM-HITACHI_v2_3_Stealth Revision 2.. everything seemed to work just fine as i could play my originals and my backups.. but the backups were finiky at booting up i figured this was cause i was using ritek  media. i then did the laser POT mod to get them to boot better i set it at 3.2 ohms from 3.6 and it was working fine i did notice it booted my backups alot better.. a week after it started freezing in games saying it cant read them and then the xbox would freeze up.. now it wont play anything it just says "to play this game insert it into an xbox 360 console" for backups and originals but it will play dvds.. this has me stumped i might try and reflash with my original but i dont know how much this will do since it worked fine before..
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated...

sounds like the laser is dead, the ss is on the 2nd layer of the disk and if the laser isn't strong enough to read it then it will give you "to play this disk".

i would try another pot tweak and if that doesnt work just get a new laser.
