Flashing Back To Original Firmware With Maximus Toolbox

When flashing back to the original firmware on a 78k drive using the maximus toolbox, do you have to use differential flash RESTORE or can you use differential flash PATCH?  My original firmware for my drive is spoofed to a 46d and obviously has my key inserted into it.  My 46d went bad and i had to flash a new 78k drive to my xbox 360.  I inserted my key and then spoofed it to a 46d to get this new 78k drive to work on my xbox 360.  I then flashed this original firmware that is 46d spoofed using maximus toolbox 1.5 to get iXtreme 1.2.  I want to put the new iXtreme 1.4 on my drive.
