Why Are There Different Speed Modus?

hello again,

i just flashed my toshiba drive with the ixtreme 1.4 (12x) fw. i couldt try it out yet, because i dont have any dual layer disc atm. tomorrow i will get me some and report...

ive been tryin to answer this question on my own, but i gave up. what are the different speed modus for? i chosed 12x - is that good or bad?

12x is the default speed. The slower speeds make the drive quieter but load times are longer.

12X is problematic with backups.Burned medias can't reach that speed sometimes.You better flash with 8X to get the best result.
