Well ive been messing around with a coupla busted consoles from ebay and seem to have reached a conclusion about this message if not a solution.

It seems if you swap a drive without exchanging the key first you can still use the console and indeed play DVD movies. Hence, there must be an interaction between the drive key verification and the ability to read game DVD's without that all discs read as video DVD discs thus the confounding error.

Whilst this wont help any of you with the problem, better knowledge of it might drive ebay prices down especially as there are lots of these floating about thanks to the usual screwdriver jockey cock-ups.

I paid about £50 each for my two busted and leadless consoles, if you ask me thats a brilliant price for a couple of DVD playing media extenders that work on Live! to boot

Just a thought (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
