Ixtreme 1.4 Problem
« on: December 22, 2007, 07:17:00 PM »

Ok guys, whenever I update my 360 Sammy to iXtreme 1.4 none of my burned games work, the originals do though. I can go back to iXtreme 1.2 and they all work again. I have no idea what is causing this, any ideas?

I am making the fw file with the Make cmd in the 1.4 folder. I have tried both 8x and 12x. Please help.

Thanks.

What brand are your backups? If they're average quality, you can try 5X. I normally hear that 12X to 8X fixes the issue but you may try 5X to see what happens.
Good luck.

I am actually having all sorts of problems trying to flash my MS25 drive using the given tutorials. I have started to create post's and then stopped and did more research but I keep failing. I am usually good at finding the info I need on forums etc but I am really struggling here. Right now I am using the latest iPrep with the latest firmware (1.4 5x). All goes pretty well with iPrep. When I tell it to create a formatted bootable USB drive it does spit out a "drive not ready" error, but it seems like it works after I hit continue. I then boot off the USB drive with the 360 attached and grounded using croc clips. The 360 stays off until after I have typed in dSam xxxxxxx xxxxx. It then tells me to make sure the drive is on so I turn it on and I get a stack overflow error. Effing sweet. I am using a controller card with the VT6421L chipset and have disabled my onboard RAID, detached all other devices and read tutorials, forums and watched Textbook's video. I still fail. I suck.

I even tried finding the old stuff that Textbook used in his tutorial. I did xtreme boot maker 0.3.6 (or whatever) and xtreme33. I got to the command prompt, turned xbox on and got the stack overflow.

I am SURE that I am just not researching well enough and the info is there for me... but honestly I have spent three nights on this site and many others trying to figure this out so please don't tell me "search the forum, the answers are there". If you do know the answer is here will you at  least LINK me to the post because my searching abilities obviously suck balls.

ps - I have modded regular xbox's in the past and feel that process was more involved than this. I am embarrassed that I haven't figured this out yet. Please help!!!

All of my backups are burned on Verbatims. The flash process goes through just fine, no errors at all. Like I said earlier, I have tried 8x and 12x fw speeds, both with the same result. My drive is a MS25 Sammy.

I'm using a VIA 6421 card and like I said, iXtreme 1.2 works perfectly with all of my backups, it is only 1.4 that doesnt work. I just dont get it. I have flashed serveral 360's with varied drives and havent had this happen before.

Problem solved, it was a computer issue with creating fw.

@mjamike

I've never heard of the command dsam? Ive heard of iDump xxxxxxx xxxxx and iFlash xxxxxxx xxxxx. Now the reason your drive might not be detected and getting the error. but unless iDump was changed in the latest release

when using iprep to create a boot disk, after booting with it dsam is the command used to read the samsungs firmware and create the new hacked firmware before flashing.

Overflow errors are usually a problem with either the sata card (defective) or the card & motherboard combination.  Try the card in another PC (dont forget to remake iprep for that pc), or RMA that card for a return and get a different card.  Those are your only options.

I love you. I flashed without a problem on another machine with this sata card. Thanks.... I still can't play backups though. Can I ask for some more advice.

Screenshot 1 - The successful flash screen (I think).

Screenshot 2 - After seeing the above screen I powered 360 off, plugged 360 SATA cable back in, powered on, tried to play backup of Burnout Revenge and saw this...

Any ideas? I also tried a backup of Call of Duty 4 and it just said "unrecognizable disc". I burned Call of Duty with dvd decrypter, which could be my problem? I used CloneCD for Burnout as the nfo stated. Let me know anything you can think of.

Oh ya... originals play fine.

Hi,
I am sure people are sick of me... sorry. Turns out only one game will work for me. I have an original Madden 07 that works. I JUST bought Rockband from a friend and can not get the game to read. Gives me the same thing that the burnout backup gives. I tried re-flashing and now my drive doesn't get detected. What the hell am I doing wrong? I feel SO DUMB. Please help.

Is it possible your back ups are not "proper" and will not pass the stealth checks of the new firmware?
