Benq Wrong Flash State
« on: February 03, 2020, 10:36:00 PM »

Using DosFlash, I read my original firmware bin fine, with;
DosFlash r E200 1 a0 1 4 orig.bin 0

I then restarted both the PC and xbox, and tried to erase, using;
DosFlash e E200 1 a0 1 4 D8 0

This started "Erasing..." then gave the error "Wrong Flash State"

I created a hacked bin using the same method I usually use with the samsung;
x360sam orig.bin IX14-5.bin hacked.bin
I assumed this would be okay, but I am not probably thinking BenQ bins have to be created with a different program.
I have found it hard to find good documentation for hacking BenQ drives with DOS Software only. Most places that I find in searches are still talking about the two wire trick etc.

I tried to write using using;
DosFlash w E200 1 a0 1 4 hacked.bin
It seemed to go ok with the write process, giving 4 OKs, but then at the end it said something like 139,000 write errors. Which of course is never good.

The xbox now gives a single red light (bottom right), and the screen displays System Error E 65.
I think it may be bricked.

I still cannot erase.
I tried writing the original bin, but I get errors again.

I have tried searching everywhere. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

PS: I am using a via sata chipset (onboard) and a VAD6038

I managed to fix this,

After reading this thread, http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?sho...p;#entry4179269
I did C7 instead of D8 for erasing.

I then used FIRMTOOL to create the new firmware.
This wrote sucessfully.
