I wonder if I can i use ixtreme 1.4  for elite, I have Hitachi driver so can i?

Yes, ixtreme 1.4 is available for all 360 dvd drive.  Now getting it flashed is not as simple as the others.  You will need a 79 Passkey installed and you will need to use Firmware Tool box to read and flash the drive.

Assuming he has a v79.  He may get lucky and have a v78.
