They can't detect the differences! They're banned because they played bad games on older firmwares.

If you're gonna play on live, update, if not then don't care and flash the xtreme firmware

with 1.3 there are some issues with reporting the angle, aka bad kreon rip. But i'm not 100% sure if you're as safe as 1.4 with 1.3 and a "good kreon" rip

And how can you be sure that 1.4 is safe too? I'm not gonna play on live at least until the next ban wave comes and it is proven that 1.4 with virgin consoles are undetectable.

did you see me writing somewhere that 1.4 is completely safe?? i said 1.4 is the safest you can go for now.

if you already played backups on live with 1.3, i think the best you can do is update to 1.4 and keep playing and enjoying while you can instead of being afraid and not use the console

The ban wave has stopped now. http://www.xbox-scen...EFkJwVSJWAg.php
it says how innocent people are getting banned for not having a modified console. Heres a question my Halo 3 comes up as Invalid on mulleter but good on kreon check does this mean my games good?

thanks,

Kurt

as said before: FORGET KREON CHECKER

it has become obsolete with 1.4

if it's your own rip, i'd stick with it and forget about patching it with mulleter too

I dont have 1.4 i bought my console premodded so i dont know whats on it. Do you still need a VIA chipset if the firmware has been modified?

depends on what drive you have. If you have an hitachi then no, for samsung no, you can use the 0800 disc, and for benq you need via or nforce

why forget mulleter too?  sometimes when i back up one of my disks it will come up with SS errors... either by checkin with mulleter or schtrom3.4...  this has happened whether i use kreon or ts-943a...

ideas?

If you do a successfull OWN rip, then check the data with mulleter to be sure, but if you PATCH it (aka autofix) your OWN backup might be turned into another one (other stealth files)

So if you've created a good own backup, i would NOT autofix it with mulleter

That makes no sense... first off you will always be waiting for the next ban wave to prove the latest firmware is safe forever and secondly it proves nothing to survive a ban wave... we have users who survived with really old xtreme firmware and some who are probably still playing with old firmware.

MS appears to be smart and isn't banning everyone at once just so they can keep us on our toes... I don't think we will ever be able to be 100% sure any firmware is safe, and it's proven that waiting until after a banwave does NOT show any kind of safety.

That's the thing... how would you know your own backup is good if you don't check with mulleter, and if mulleter says it's bad how do you know it wasn't an error in ripping or something and your rip really isn't bad?

yes, devendander... that was exactly my question... for now I just keep letting my 4 kids play their originals... but they are so, so hard on the disks...  and I cannot be there every second to watch them and make sure they take care of the things.... as hard as I try

are they playing their originals on live? if they aren't going on the live service, you could just pull the ethernet cable (hide it perhaps) and give them the backups.
