What Happened To My Xbox360?
« on: December 16, 2007, 11:40:00 AM »

Awhile back I was doing the 2wire trick on a hitachi. Something went wrong. When the console is powered up with the drive no red lights, but the eject button does nothing.  I then replaced the drive with a samsung (With a wrong key) to check to see if the eject would work. Still nothing when eject is pressed.

Question:

1) Can a bad flash with 2 wire blow something on the board to eject the dvd? If so is it toast?
or
2) When using a different drive does the key on the mobo and drive have to match in order to eject?

Your thoughts are greatly appreciated.

How did you do the two wire incorrectly?  Which pins did you cross?  If you accidently shorted it to the 12V pin, then the mn103 on the Hitachi has a burnt lead, and also something on the mobo is burnt (south bridge?).  The samsung drive will work without a key, assuming it is spoofed to the correct version.  It should still eject even if it is not spoofed correctly but will give E66 shortly once powered up.  It should eject as normal, play DVD's but when 360 media is inserted, it will tell you to insert the disc in a 360 console.  TBH, i did this to my first hitachi board and was never able to fix it.
