Ms25 Tray Always Wants To Stay Open
« on: December 16, 2007, 10:29:00 AM »

I have a flashed ms25 drive the is acting really strange now. The tray is almost always open. I can get it to partially read disc if I start the system with the eject button then the drive will close and start reading the disc until the dashboard is booted, then it is stuck at "opening".
If I then eject the drive, it will open but immediately close again. And then it gets stuck at "opening" again.

When I power off the system the drive, closes if it was open, and then opens as the last thing it does.

Here's a clip:

Please note that the system actually powers off in the end, the background noise that continues is the fan of my computer.

I've run across a few of these that i bought "broke" one stuck closed one stuck open like yours..
I just ended up replacing the drives with the MS28 samsung replacement drives from www.topmicrousa.com
$45 each , just be sure to insert  your drive key from your ms 25..
