Sata Port On Samsung Ms28 Isn't Standard Sata
« on: December 14, 2007, 12:58:00 PM »

Total newb here.
Thought i had everything prepared, as in textbooks tut.
First time i remove the sata cable from back of xbox drive, notice the cable isn't standard and the port on the back has bare pins, not the tight fitting l-shape i am expecting my sata cable to fit in.
The cable from the xbox motherboard seems to have a filling inside, that makes the plug fit the pins snugly?
Any ideas why it's not standard?
Can i use a pin to pull the filling out of the xbox sata lead and then put it in the standard sata lead i have?
any help appreciated (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

eSATA = External SATA ( I shaped )

iSATA = SATA = Internal SATA ( L shaped )

i think you've pulled the fitting off the drive itself and its stuck on the sata cable!

I paid someone to flash it to the previous xtreme firmware.
So the bit stuck in the sata lead is safe to pull out and wedge in the standard sata lead?
thanks for help
