ok... sorry for all the "newb" questions but what if you bought a new motherboard?  would this give you a new MAC address? and would you be able to pair up the old dvd drive with the new board?

Well considering the entirety of a 360 basically is the motherboard, dvd and hdd (since everything is more or less integrated onto the mobo) if you got a new mobo and married the DVD drive to it, yes you would be unbanned... but where are you going to get a new mobo without just buying a new 360?

You would also need the key from the dvd drive that was originally married to the motherboard.

Is it absolutely certain that the banning have nothing to do with the Dec 4th update? I know nothing is certain at this point but what's the consensus as of right now?

 put it this way if the dec 4th update is something to do with banning id bet 99% of ppl who own modded console would b screwed lol

im not sure but i would like to know the answer to this aswell, and how come all of a sudden it seems to make no difference if u have 1.4 or not u will still get banned spose it will be figured out sooner or later

I do kiss the long nights goodbye - since 03/06 the same 360 console and finally it is banned!
m$ put up a good fight!
Will be getting a new 360 after the holidays though, but this one will be legit

it doesn't have to do w/ mac address....if that were the case it would be easy to get around

Ok i am banned right now too, so for me the list theory works and everybody can check it.
Look at an earlier reply in this thread. I was on a list for 3 weeks and now i got banned.
I am also possitive it was halo3 who did it, i checked al my games and all of them were good stealth and kreon. Check your warranty status on the service page and you know if you are on a list. take your atvantage of it.

Running iXtreme 1.3 on HI47D.  Not sure which game did me in, but I've got the usual suspects (Halo 3, COD4, Mass Effect) on backup, so it's probably one of those.

Sigh.  Guess I'll be buying another 360 after the holidays too!

While this may be a bit off-topic from this current thread, I figured I would ask anyways to see what kind of response it would get: Has anyone tried logging onto Live successfully with one of the newer mod chips? (NME 2.0 or Globe 360 V2)

its worrying how all of a sudden more and more people are getting banned, how long have you had the console for? also im wondering if the people thats getting banned are the ones that made it through the first ban wave.

im defo checking my warranty status when i get home though! its worrying and maybe it is possible they can detect the fw since the dash update?

Ive had mine since Feb. Modded and worked perfectly until today.
Sadly got banned
I hope theyre will be a way around this.

if you had it since feb you missed the first banwave so technically it could be that you are getting banned now for what you did then (i presume you started with the xtreme 5.x series firmware so it could be that you played then with no stealth etc?

i modded mine after the first banwave as i only got the xbox in july (first flashed with ixtreme 1.0)

and im not banned (yet) lol hope it stays this way

I have my xbox about 1 year now and had modded frop the beginning, survived first and second wave.
I strongly ask people (banned or not) check your warranty status on the ms site, they've been on to me for 3 weeks (as i know maybe longer).
I believe they can detect the firmware cause all my games are stealth and kreon checked.
