Since this is for all versions, dont i need to use dosflash anymore for benQ drives?

Is there a tutorial for BENQ for this new release available?

I am sure you still need to use dosflash to dump the original fw and to erase/write the hack fw.

What was the Kreon checker actually looking at then?  Are some discs encoded with a "360" value?

If the kreon checker was using disc jitter and only detecting the random collisions of a "360" value.. then why were some rips consistantly bad?

I just flashed my Samsung drive with the 8X firmware from 1.3 5X and there is a really annoying pitch associated with the 8X firmware.  I'm going to try 5X and see if the noise goes away.

just upgraded my samsung MS28 to 1.4  12x, previously was using 1.3a 12x.

The drive is now very loud, sounds like its vibrating and spinning too fast.   Got some stuttering in orange box intro cut scenes then when the drive slowed down it picked up.   Going to try  8x firmware.  Something seems off about the speed of the disk.  It was not this loud on 12x before.

im still very confused about this new update. Can someone plz clarify this for me?

First off, if I have a bad backup from a kreon drive, b4 updating to 1.4, it was possible to get banned due to bad timers being sent or something.
But if I update to 1.4, can I still play that bad backup from a kreon drive and this update will prevent those bad timers from being sent?

and also, im confused about the speeds.... whats the default 360 speed that it spins at, and what is the recommended speed to flash on the drive?

yes for question one and default is 12x speed depends on your preference of noise I prefer 5x since its very quiet but on games like guitar hero you will see a lag 8x seems to be the best bet

ok...
So Is my Kreon sh-d162c Useless For stealth Backups now ? sad.gif
I thought the kreon only did the bad rips randomly not consistently, so if i rip a game and then check if it is good or bad, and if it is bad,
i rip again and it should fix it...

but this ne 359 Degree stuff sounds serious,
Do we have to wait for another kreon FW now ?

So changing speed of your drive is not detectable? I was always thinging that MS can check if disc was readed with speed of 12x and then know who have changed FW. I'm not sure if I was wrong...?

First of all, there's absolutely no value in Kreon Checker with 1.4 FW.  Delete it from your PC and move on.  It only told you if your rip was possible to trigger the >359 calc bug in older firmwares.

Second, MS probably can't detect and certainly can't ban based on your drive speed.  Even a stock 360 drive steps down to slower speeds as needed with scratched/dirty media.

Hi,
If I played bad kreon backups offline and wasnt online since then. After I'll flash my ms28 with 1.4 iXtreme should I first format the HDD before loging on to XBL? or the bad data is not being logged offline?

Thanks.

I've asked this same question many times and nobody seems to know the answer. It would be interesting to know if anyone who doesn't have a HDD has been banned.

Seeing as no one really knows, this is what is true for the moment:
There is nothing to indicate that checks are being done offline and storing some sort of data to the HDD or anywhere else on the console.
