For some reason, when I was trying to use the batch files for the BenQ 5X and 8X, the key wasn't properly inserted into the new firmware so I had to do it manually...anyone have this problem?

So does this mean that I after upgrading to v1.4, I should re-rip all my games with my Samsung (360) drive; or will my Kreon backups work fine?
They're all 100% stealth, and they all pass in Kreon Checker.

Hope someone can clear this up smile.gif Thanks.

And to someone a few posts back asking for the command to write a drive with mtkflash, I use:
CODE
mtkflash w /m /sata xtreme.bin

Flashed from 1.3 5x to 1.4 5x, all good.

It is my understanding, that while 1.4 fixes the 359 +1 = 360 problem, there is still an issue with "good kreon rips".  There is an uneeded jitter added to some of the CR timers by the kreon fw.  This in conjunction with the jitter added from ixtreme, may lead to too large discrepancies. Jitter should only be added once, by the ixtreme fw. Until kreon removes the jitter from his fw, it is advised to use a TSST (360 sammy drive) for ripping SS.
Yes this means even with 1.4, if you want to as safe as possible, you should scrap even " good kreon SS" in favour of a sammy SS.

If you can't remember if you ripped the SS from a kreon drive.  You should rip the SS from the retail disk again using a sammy drive, then compare their TRUE CRC.  "TRUE", meaning a CRC including the CR timers that can have added jitter.  ATM, mulleter and schrtom ignore the jitter in their CRC, which isnt desirable in this situation.
If the true CRC of the SS is different from the SS from your rip, that indicates you rip was form a kreon drive.  You should inject the SS from the sammy rip, and reburn.

The decision is yours, but I believe retail disk are 12x.

It comes down to faster load times VS quieter operation.  You decide.

Well, I'm not sure if I get it.
I use Verbatim DVD+R DL 2x - 6x Media and burn using Pioneer DVR-111D mostly on it's 2.4X speed. I thought it has something to do with this ...

If not, what are the consequences of using the 2x cause that's the one I choose.

Thats your burn speed, not read speed. You should burn as slow as possible for a accurate burn. You can burn at 2x, and still have the 360read at 12x, if that is the version of the firmware you are going to flash.

Interesting ... so you mean it's really my choice and it doesn't really matter. Would there be an issue of my previous backups not working on either of the speeds I choose?

If everything is groovy, do you recommend I choose 12X?

Thanks!

Different read speeds, pick the speed you want.  12x is the default for 360s

Actually you should burn at your media's rated speed, at least with the 360.

wow, can someone help me out plz? first off, i have a 78k hitachi, and on xbox-scene it says v78 is not supported yet, so I can't even bother with this new flash right?  Or can I?

and once i update to 1.4, if I insert  a bad kreon rip and play it, there is still a possiblity of being band? 1.4 doesn't fix the bad rips? you still need to rip them as a 1:1 copy?

and 3rd, I never updated with a diff drive speed, 12x is really getting on my nerves due to the noise. I still wanna try and keep the game loads fast so my next option is 8x, and just wanted to ask how much less nosier and slower is it compare to 12x?  b/c once I flash it, I wanna do it once, I dont wanna do it twice.

thanks
