So has anyone been banned running this firmware?

Someone else asked a similar question a few posts up too.. I think people fail to do their research and that microsoft bans in waves.  They don't ban on fly.  They sit back for several months, gather your date, when WHAM!  A big chunk of people get banned at the same time when its too late to do anything about it (which to be honest, I think is more effect then the only fly banning on the old XBOX).

1.4 came out after the last banwave, they haven't attempted another banwave since (i don't think?).  The tend do them around dashboard updates (sortof).. we're probably due for one.

From MS's point of view, it'd be stupid to ban on fly, it clues people in quicker to what changed, and what causes the bans.. when they ban in waves they can gather lots of intel before people figure it out.

Interesting. This is something that seems pretty interesting and I'd like to do it, but I can't afford another Xbox in the event that I get banned,  I'll have to wait a few weeks until I get home from school and start my internship this Summer before playing with anything.

Simple question:
I have ixtreme 1.4 on my 78fk drive, all my discs have been checked with Xdvd and are all stealth. Is it safe to go online for now until the next banwave? I wanna play GTA IV online but nobody has talked about going online with it since Rockstar are tracking shit.

If you have a BenQ drive, you'd have to play GTA4 from the original disc, since AFAIK all BenQ's currently have serious issues with GTA4 backups.

I wonder if this problem can be addressed in the future releases of iXtreme. Is it even technically possible?

Are you sure? I thought BenQ owners were just getting slower loads and more popups than some of the other drives?

Well in fact MUCH more popups, so much it makes chases almost unplayable. Driving a sportcar you can easily lose sight of the road itself - that's a serious issue in my book wink.gif

i have a benq with 1.41 and have the original gta and a backup of it (made using XBC and a samsung ms28 drive) and there is very little difference between the originalgame and the backup, maybe a slightly longer load time on the backup but definitely there is no more popups on the backup than with the original.

Same here. Slightly longer load times, but nothing where my car outruns the DVD drive wink.gif

On my BenQ the load time for backups is about 2x longer than original, and as I said there are much more popups and texture loading issues.
I have two backups, made with XBC 2.8, one on L-Pro and the other on Verbatim media, the writer is Lite-On SOHW-1653S, at 2.4x.

Hi,

Is there a dedicated GTA4 thread on this forum to address this issue? Because after I flashed from xtreme firmware 5.2b to ixtreme 1.4 @ 8x, i noticed some very seldom freezing lasting at the most 2-3 seconds while driving through the city. I just flashed it again to 5x to see if that'll help. The textures and the weapons/restaurants do take a couple seconds to load up. It's not too much of an annoyance, but i rather prefer loading than an occasion random freezing while driving since it'll i believe hamper gameplay, especially during a chase scene....

after googling around, i didnt realize that there is a known freezing issue for both xbox 360 & ps3. the only solution i came across is clearing the cache. But after reading some reports, it seems to be dealing with only systems that have hard drives. I'm using the memory card. I don't know if this will help, but I'll give it a shot. here's the link on how to do it if any is curious:

http://www.joystiq.com/2006/06/09/xbox-360...ode-discovered/

Any suggestions/ideas will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

i was using a pioneer 111d dvdrw and i got a cheap phillips dvdrw for my ladys laptop, well guess what the phillips has burnt loads of games 100% all working, but with the poineer it only worked 95% of the time

i also had a 360 that rrod 2 days after i fixed it, i wont read proper so i changed the len and adjusted the pots well guess what it was brillant it booted faster and i could use any media , i was using a-one printables, now i've got a new box i need to swap the drives or adjust the pots, is there a chance m$ set the pots bad to make it hard to read some media's, just an idea, as if you've ever done the pots you'll know how much differnce it makes
