Does anyone know the stock read speed of the Benq drive?

i recently did my drive with 1.4 12x and my drive is pretty loud, Now normally the 12x is going above and beyond the normal stock read speeds right? I tried the slower speeds way back when ixtreme first came out and what not and they made my games chop and lag a bit so just out of curiosity how does 8x work for you guys? im thinking about switching to 8x but I dont want to end up seeing everything chop up because it reads to slow again.

I never had any problem flashing drives with everything connected in my PC. Even one of my hard drives is connected to my Via 6421 and yet i'm still able to do what's needed.

"the usual places"
However if you read the Rules you would know that asking for warez is not tolerated and might get you banned so just use google...

I use 8x and seems quiet for me and no lag in any games (GHIII, COD4, FIFA08, etc...!) I was debating this as well but the stock speed of 12x is beyond what we need well to me at least.

Was using 8x, didn't seem to lag but noticed that I was getting into games A LOT later than I should have been. For example, Rainbow Six Vegas 2, I would miss out on the first round because everybody got in before I did.

Is there a thread out there about CURRENT bans?

I think it would be great if there was a thread that was current with banning.  I don't play on live often with my backups but if and when I do I'd like to be able to visit a link or thread to see if I will be okay.

Basically, something to tell me... "Do not go onto live... M$ detected the latest firmware" or something along those lines.

... or perhaps a thread already exists that I overlooked?

Thanks in advance.

Look on Xbins FTP for the most upto date firmware version for your drive.
ATM iXtreme 1.4 is the latest.

I'm hoping someone can answer my question.

I have an 0079FK Xbox Elite.

I installed Firmware ixtreme 1.4 following this method and the toolbox told me that the flash was successful.

Now when I put backup games in my xbox360 they are not recognized.  Regular games have no problem playing.

The only way I can get backup games to be recognized is the trick described HERE.

Am I always going to have to do this reboot trick or is there something I missed in the original firmware flash?
