Hitachi Flashing/restoring Issues, Please Help
« on: December 08, 2007, 12:06:00 AM »

Hey guys

I have a hitachi 46 g drive and am running into a few problems flashing it.

Things I've done (in order)
1) tried to flash with ixtreme (kept going for hours, I stopped it by closing the cmd prompt). it WAS in mode b
2) tried to restore, failed

RESTORE.bat

╔══════════════════════════════════════╗

║ C4EVA: iXtreme v1.2 Stealth ║
║ HITACHI ALL VERSIONS 8in1 ║
║ ║
║ ║
║ Restores your x360 drive to ORIGINAL ║

What is the Hitachi drive letter?

f

RESTORING DRIVE f:\ HITACHI V.46 FIRMWARE..

ERROR: Hitachi DVD drive is NOT restoring..

WARNING: One of FOUR4 things could be wrong

#1: Shut-down all your back-ground programs
#2: Windows is in-compatible, try SAFE MODE
#3: Your DVD drive is not a working version
#4: Start mode B with DVD disk in the drive

===========================================

ARE YOU SURE DRIVE "f" IS THE HITACHI DRIVE

3) flashed with c4eva xtreme 2.4, flash is successful except for stealth

4) have to update console to play a game, trying to restore before I connect online and update it (does it matter)

5) restores always fail, same error as above.

The drive is in mode b. I am using an sata-usb adapter and have a retail halo 3 inside. On bootup, the computer does not recognize the drive (has a yellow question mark in device manager), until I replug in the usb and then it detects it fine, allows me to eject from comp, etc. I can also run xbox games from the computer (just tells me to put it in xbox360 console, so i dont think its bricked?)

ANY help is greatly appreciated.

have you tried dumping/flashing it with toolbox?

Read the method described for flashing a v78. this can be used for you as well, and this did work for me for a 59 that gave me a headache once

Your drive is flashed with C4EVA 2.4 right? If so,can you try to restore it with 2.4 not ixtreme? Try using your sata connection without the usb adapter, that might cause you the trouble.Few more hints:

Inside the ixtreme folder type this:
memdump f 12200 8 8000 nemoah.bin

After that ,check that bin file with maximus firmware toolbox. We'll see if that's correct.
