I would have thought the codecs would have been included with the update?!

I let the update run, restarted and went into mediacenter, navigated to pc share and tried playing some divx and got the same codec error as before the update.

Can anyone else confirm divx playback after updating?

It doesn't work in Media Center, you have to just add a folder share from a PC on the network and play back your divx files through there. Once you select the movie to view, it will tell you it needs to download an update, then it plays just fine.

Media extender does not play divx yet that is a seperate update that will be released in the near future. Divx is playable on the 360 using WMP 11 and sharing your divx. This was clearly stated in the update log, please read it.

WOW just tried a dvd full of divx and hey presto. sweet, never imagined that it wld play from the dvdrom, didnt mention that in the update (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

I just use windows media connect. I believe it uses WMP11. put all my family guy episodes there worked perfectly.
