Samsung Ms28 And Iprep 101 V006 - Error Drive Not Detected?
« on: December 03, 2007, 08:52:00 AM »

Hi,

I'm trying to flash my samsung ms28 drive using iprep. I have put on the firmware 1.3 (5x) and checked the usb stick and it does have a dsam and fsam on there.

But when i go past the iprep stage and type dsam 1234567 12345 (serial no) and then it tells me to turn on the xbox and press any key.

At this point it tells me the drive was not detected. I have removed all the drives in my pc (dvd writer etc) and even tried not putting the sata cable in the back of the xbox untill the iprep screen comes up. The sata cable is on the pci card nearest to the motherboard. Still it does not detect it.

Does anyone know what the problem is?

thanks very much

This might help.

Or possibly this.

TIP: Once you have read your original firmware, check it with Firmware Toolbox to make sure it's good, then read it again and re-check. Better safe than sorry.

thanks had a look at it and i will try the first link.

Can i just run through my process to make sure i have it right

•   Make sure you have the USB with the correct firmware installed on it and bootable (iprep v006)
•   Put the sata cable in the xbox and the pc. Do not turn the machine on and connect the sata cable to the sata point nr to motherboard.
•   Select the bios to boot from the USB
•   The programme should now start and you should see a red banner with a warning screen.
•   Press dsam 1234567 12345 (serial number on the xbox case) and enter.
•   Follow the on screen instructions.
•   Make a backup of the .bin files (usb stick and save to desktop)
•   When that process is done you are now ready to flash the drive.
•   Press dsam 1234567 12345 (serial) and enter
•   Follow the on screen instructions and you should see bank 0 etc

Looking at other guides i have this wrong, i'm using iprep 101 v6 and ixtreme 1.3 (x5)
