I think we should see a release tomorrow if it is in testing. Give them time to actually test the fw. It should be released by tomorrow morning here.

its worrying how on the #fw channel its saying that tht firmware compensates for "part of the kreon bug etc", so i gather from this it still might not be safe to use the firmware with kreon rips we currently have.

Lahey also made a fix like this a few days ago, the problem is we wont know if simply setting the bytes to 0000 will fix the issue until the new ixtreme fw comes out and final conclusions are made. There might be more to it than that, so I would recommend not making any new backups until this is sorted out.

having said that people still got banned and nothing has changed, so it isnt really all gravy, i presume they do the ss check through the challenge/response so we still need the new firmware ASAP

well all we can do now is wait for the new firmware to come out.. I've held out on flashing my other 360 until this new firmware is released and hopefully that will be the end of this but with modding nothing is certain but at least we can rest assured that some very smart people are working on this and can hopefully remain 1 step ahead of MS.. Great job c4eva and kreon..thanks for all the hard work

Now this is the exactly opposite of what we were told 18 months ago...and it was THAT SPECIFIC concern about the integrity of the SS file and the way it was randomly generated by one of the early v.80 KREON drives..in fact it was understood that the 360's internal OEM drives were considerd a much better choice for ripping any ISO to make sure that the SS was proper...;we were told that there was no doubt the OEM360 will do a much better ripping job of the game image. I STILL BELIEVE THAT IS TRUE.

TIME TO BUY A REALLY LONG SATA CABLE TO CONNECT YOUR PC TO YOUR 360 and retire these KREON rips...I don't trust them and neither should anyone.

I am not trying to insult KREON, I very much appreciate his work, but its time to eliminate one of these programs from the ripping equation and simplify this process...from reading your newest comments you still have many unknows in your KREON software..the less unknowns the better.

Its time to buy a really long SATA cable to connect our 360's to our PC's and retire KREON

God in heaven, don't use this! The answer is not to patch your SS just to fool Kreon Checker. Anyone who does this gets what they deserve.

You have nothing to do than criticize the work of others, my patch is to simply replace by 00H the 32bit data added by kreon randomly namely sectors 229H and 230H .Et my work is based on the comparison between many good and bad ss in many games.
So stop criticizing without evidence.
