i looked at some benQ flashing tutorials and it looks like you have to solder something no matter what... is this true or is there another method of doing this without any soldering?

thx

No soldering with the Benq's now. It is easy as easy can get. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

same here.. i got one from bestbuy.. it was hitachi so i brought it back..then went to EBgames and told the guy i need the latest manufactured date..so he got me the newest one he has which was 2007-09-29...lot 739.. took it home.. its a hitachi again.. sad.gif

the guy told me all arcade consoles already have the falcon processor/mb in it.. its just whether you get a hitachi or BenQ DVD drive.

Is there a detailed tutorial on how to do this? The one in the tutorils thread talks about soldering.

I just got a Falcon Arcade with a Benq on first try! Very happy

what people are forgetting to mention that if you dont have  a via chipset in your pc you will still have to go out and buy an addon card so you can flash the benq. the process itself is easy but if you have an intel board your going to be spending a little bit more to get it done.

Chip or Passkey it is still the same thing. Need to solder and remove epoxy.
