Troublesome Benq Drive In Falcon 360
« on: November 30, 2007, 08:21:00 PM »

Hi everyone,

I must hold the record for the longiest  amount of time spent trying to flash the benq drive, its been 4 hours now and i still carnt even manage to read the drive.  I got both a NF4 chipset motherboard and a via VT6421A sata card that i used to do my old samsung xbox.

Ive been trying to get everything working with iprep as many others have after reading the posts here, for some reason iprep or windows for that matter will not reconise my via card im running windowsXp and all it does is install my card under scsi devices as a VTN???? and when i launch  msinfo32 under storage devices the same thing is listed but no device ID or IRQ settings ect are listed.

My NF4 chipsets are a different matter they show up perfectly in msinfo32 and in iprep once the "Switch to IDE based controllers" button is clicked the problem is getting the correct port number for the channel that the drive is connected to as im running a server board at the moment and it shows around 4 NF4 connections which under msinfo32 gives allot of possible port numbers to go through.

In dos i usally just get left hanging on 0x7F and am unable to get passed that point.  Thanx for any help or suggestions.
