Flashing An M25
« on: November 27, 2007, 09:56:00 AM »

I tried to search and couldn't find anything that seemed to help. When I try to make my bootable usb drive with Iprep it doesn't work, it just places some files onto the thumb drive. Its Iprep V006 which has a different interface than the original. It doesn't have the options to force a device list, nor does it allow me to check the "Make device bootable" option even when I select the letter for the thumb drive.

Also am I suppose to just load whichever Ixtreme file is in the 12x, 8x, etc. that I choose or do I need to create a patched fw from the origin.bin file? The Ixtr13.bin file? Because this is not the one that is shown that I am suppose to use in the tutotial, theres another file in there as well. If needed where can I find this orgin.bin file? Sorry if this doesn't make sense but I've read through Textbook's tutorial several times and can't figure this out.

For the record I've successfully flashed 2 Hitachi drives so I'm not a complete noob, this is just my first Samsung.

Fixed it, apparently to flash the thumb drive it needs to be a smaller one (I got a 32 mb one to work).

Now we're having problems getting Iprep to load the DVD drive after I input the serial number. It doesn't see it at all, but if I head to the bios you can see the drive is there
