Gday,

Did anyone actually figure this one out ?

I had latest iXtreme 12x firmware, loading times were crapola, changed to 8x firmware, drive got quieter, loading times still very very bad compared to other dvdroms, kane and lynch load times are woeful.

Falcon 360, benq, latest 12x or 8x fw, verb media cut at 4x. Tested same discs on other 360 decks, works 100%.

Lip sync/sound in cut scenes on games can also be way out - very frustrating. Load times horrible.

Many thanks to c4e for his brilliant work and dedication, please don't take this as an insultive/whingey post, just sounds like this problem is relatively widespread and was wondering if anyone had any success.

Thanks,
Bogrolls.

Same problem here, some games not loading and others about 25% longer loading.

Slow benq (12x) here as well.

Tested streaming game differences with a friends hitachi v47.
As well as general loading times.

Guess there's another reason for spoofing incoming smile.gif

Benq just fucking sucks. All my games takes ages to load now compared to my old samsung.

GTA4 backup is literally unplayable because of the streaming issues.

Same problems no matter what media or burning speeds.

Could the problems you guys are having be down to the firmware

when disk judder was added.

what this basicly does is when the drive speeds up if the laser doesnt read the disks properly like original ect ect..

you hear the drive speed up then make a noise then judder to a slower speed....

the judder could be the cause.

How can we test this?
Flashing an older version?

I'd be willing to give it a shot if you tell me which one .. been having problems with 1.4 12x and 5x

Im not really sure what firmware they added disk judder to....
best guess would be to login to xiso 2008 and check the old section.

there is also guys reasons why this was added this was added becuse some drives might struggle with some media and this feature reduced the speed on the fly so that it didnt diskready error....

might be worth trying it though and if any problems like the above then revert back...

goodluck.

Mines slow too, Benq 1.4 iXtreme @ 12x, Verbs burned at 2x

Skate has minor issues, loading the map takes a split second when it should be instant. Orange Box runs like a champ though, no problems at all.

GTA4 however... i heard theres normal pop-in texture issues with 360 but i feel its a little too long to load at points... sucks i never heard about this til AFTER i flashed

nm .. got 1.1 rev2 off of xbins .. still having the same issues...
Is there any other BenQ firmware except iXtreme?

ps... the readme lists "Disc-Jitter" in the 1.1 rev2 fw .. so there is no iXtreme without jitter

Looks like it took GTA4 to get this issue some attention. This game needs to stream tons of data quickly and the benq with current firmware can't do it. Hopefully now that one of the biggest games of 2008 is unplayable the firmware will get fixed up a little more.

My friend is complaining about the same thing although he is using a backup copy.

Anyone try it out on retail?
