I have the Xbox 360 with the BenQ drive. I have it connected to my computer's motherboard (P4M800) and I have tried flashing this drive with a few different methods, but no luck.

When I open DosFlash32, it says, under name, "MTK Vendor Info Failed!". It says the same thing if I try using BENREAD and DosFlash16. This is preventing my drive from being read by the computer whatsoever. I can't flash the firmware if my computer can't read the DVD drive.

Is there any way I can fix this or maybe read the drive some other way? The Slax fix doesn't work with BenQ drives to the best of my knowledge.

uh i'm pretty sure in every tutorial it says that it's supposed to say that and you just hit "Y" after it does and enter and then it will read the fw, and if it doesn't read right after, turn off the xbox for 10 seconds and power it back on and then it will dump.

Obviously you did not read the tutorial or even watch the tutorial video otherwise you would know Slax isn't even used for BenQ drives and you would know you have to press Yes when you get the MTK Vendor info failed and do a power toggle.

Stop being lazy and find a tutorial.

Actually, before I posted this thread I read through the tutorial but I guess I missed something because I just tried it again and it worked. Thanks.

sorry if this is a stupid question, but when you say 'power toggle" do you mean turn the xbox off and back on or remove the power from the dvd drive and put it back in?

It means turn the power off and back on.

just the dvd drive.  unplug the drive and plug back in really fast.
