Benq Read Size Is Only 218kb
« on: November 15, 2007, 09:32:00 PM »

OKay need some help.

I've managed thus far to get a read from the Benq drive, but I've done it twice and twice the file size comes out to be 218kb so ovbiously firmtool shuts down.  It does make the hacked software at 256kb but reading the tutorial says that it could brick my drive and not to proceed.  Can anyone offer any suggestions?  I would have tried searching for hte issue but I think the search function is not working as it shows pages of results but no actual posts.

Thank you so much for your help guys.

218kB is NOT good, so DO NOT flash!

Do you have enough space free on the disc, you need a 256kB original file!

So dump it over and over again till you have one, i would NOT use this, and if you'll flash it you can lose your key because it might not be dumped correctly in the 218kB file

deffo sounds like you do not have enough space, my mate had the same problem using floppy disc, changed to a pen drive and hey presto a 256kb file

you guys were right!  I deleted the FDISK.exe from my diskette and that allowed it enough room for a full 256kb file.  Box is flashed and playing my backups.

Thank you all
