Spoofed Hitachi
« on: November 13, 2007, 10:16:00 AM »

I recently attempted spoofing two different Hitachi 47 drives to read as Sam28's for my 360, however when I place the newly spoofed drives in my 360 it will only play the contents of the video file of any of my 360 games.

The steps I took to spoof the drive were:

Placed the hitachi in modeb via a Connectivity kit using an onboard nforce chipset.  Windows sees the drive fine.

Once in windows I open a command prompt and restore the drive.

Then I flash the hitachi using the newest ixtreme.

Next I open FWToolbox 4.5 and open my sammy FW and copy the key.

I then procede to dump the drive.  Followed by opening the dumped FW and pasting my sammy key into the dumped FW.

I then spoof the fw to read as a MS28 drive. (in FWToolbox)

Then I flash the Keys using the 47 flasher. (in FWToolbox)

Then I flash the string ID. (in FWToolbox)

Then I place the drive in the 360 and viola -- nothing.

Is there anything wrong with this process.  Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

I think the problem is that the key isn't coming over - I steer away from the 47 flasher and use the internal one. You need a DVD or Game in the drive to do this, but I haven't had a problem with it so far.
