iXtreme firmware 1.3 for TS-H943 Xbox 360
« Reply #105 on: November 13, 2007, 12:03:00 PM »

ok i have been trying to read through all this and am totaly confused
i flashed to 1.2c on both my ms28 and ms25 drives i backed up both orig.bin files on a cd which my mate inevertently used as a coaster!!!

so as i said back on page 3 i have no orig.bin

can i just flash over the 1.2c with out using orig.bin( as there already hacked?) or does it need data that only original.bin provides? if so would extracting the 1.2c firmware from my drive work as a ok substitute?

also i have been using the same method to flash right up to i did my mates benq drive which used something called firmtool to merge his orig.bin and the benq.bin together is there a way to use that to merge this with ? (it saved me having to go into windows)

please any help would be appreciated my fingers are numb from googling for help

I have some questions.

1. What is the Bad-flash method? Can anyone explain in details please?
2. What is the xbox 360 default speed?
3. Currently I have ixtreme 1.2c, do I need the enable 0800 disc?

1) http://forums.xbox-scene.com/index.php?showtopic=573693 the bit about the 10second trick is what you want though for me i have to turn the drive off hit return on the option and turn the drive on as fast as posible (the 10 microsecond trick lol) every chipset is diferent so try instant 1 2 3 4 5 you get the idea smile.gif

Just flash your drive as if you were doing it for the first time.

1) Dump your firmware from the drive
2) Use firmtool to create your hacked firmware
3) Flash hacked firmware to drive once firmtool complete successfully.

Simple as that - there are plenty of tutorials that go into greater detail for each of the above steps.

Nope. iPrep uses samtool, which is essentially the exact same thing as firmtool, minus BenQ firmware support.

I currently have 1.2C

Im a noob and I was just wondering...

If I would like to update to v1.3, do I have to flash back to original fw or can I just use the exact same method I used for updating to Original and update directly from 1.2C to 1.3.

And also, I have MS25. How can I enable 0800? Im not even sure what that is.....

-Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm sure this question has already been answered, but in case you missed it:

If you still have your original firmware stored, just copy it into the appropriate folder and run the cmd batch file. Whatever you used to originally flash the MS25 should work just as well again.

No, originals work fine.

Did your backups stop working after you applied 1.2c, or has it been a gradual thing?

Ive read that the drive will not show up in DOS unless I disable firmguard with 0800 Disc. Bad flash method seems risky.

Well, I basically flashed it out of the box so 1.2c was the first flash. Having problems with backups since the beginning (2-3 months or so).

Ok I've read everything and just wanted to run this by you guys to make sure I did everything ok.

So basically I flashed my 360 with 1.2C a while ago and want to upgrade to 1.3 8x, here's what I did:

1) Got the fw and copied my orig.bin into the fw folder and ran: Make iXtreme firmware.cmd

2) Got the confirmation and ended up with a new ix13.bin

3) Used iPrep with the latest .xml file and loaded the hacked firmware and create a bootable USB using this tool as I did the last time...

4) Copied the ix13.bin onto the USB key....this will be used instead of ixtreme.bin if I understand correctly.

5) Boot into DOS and here all I have to do is run the command: "MTKFlash w /m /sata ix13.bin" right?

Is this all I need to upgrade? Thanks

Yup - just put ix13.bin in the folder with mtkflash and all is good.  Just make sure not to proceed with flashing if there is an issue with the 'Make iXtreme Firmware' command.
