for those of you who used iPrep to flash this firmware...
how did you do it?
did you guys used iflashed command after booting? (without "iDump"ing)
or used iDump command and then used iFlash?
You can't do the actual flashing with iPrep, but what it does is prepare a folder for you.
It contains the DOS utilities "mtkflash" and "samtool", some batch files to simplify the use of mtkflash, and of course - the hacked firmware BIN.
iPrep also "customises" mtkflash for your chipset, based on the addresses you give it.
But here's what I do..
Used iPrep once only, (will never need again for repeated flashes) -- only to get the working MTKFLASH util.
Then I downloaded x360sam (yes I prefer this to samtool), and keycheck.
I dump all the stuff I need onto a USB stick.. and boot to DOS prompt with a Windows 98 CD.
My BIOS allows me to use the USB stick in DOS. Yours needs to be able to either do that, or boot from USB. Alternatively use a NTFS DOS boot CD.
Anyway "all the stuff" being:
mtkflash, x360sam, keycheck, and ix-13a.bin
- I use mtkflash to read and write to the drive
- x360sam to copy over the drive version and key into a new hacked BIN
- keycheck to make sure my original and the hacked BIN have matching keys
And that's all you need for flashing TS-Samsung drives.
