Connectivity Kit And The 0079fk Fw

Is there a reason why Windows wont recognize the Hitachi H-L drive FW 0078fk when I have it plugged into my connectivity kit? All previous FW's work. Just a pain though....

is your fw 0079 as the title topic says or 0078 as the thread says??

if its 0079 then conectibity kit alone wont put drive into mode b

if its a 0078 then use slax cd

Yeah, Im an idiot. Its the 0078.

I thought the connectivity kit put the drives in modeb regardless??

I did get it work with Slax, but was just curious why I had to use slax when I had the kit?

nope the conectivity kit does not do the 0078 alone it has to be slax

the connectivity kit works on ALL drives (to power them that is)

as for mode B, the kit can only put hitachi <78 drives in mode B

for hitachi 78 you need Slax for Mode B and for v79 you need a passkey for Mode B

for Samsung and Benq there's no mode B so you can use the connectivity kit to power those (for ms28 and benq you need to toggle power though, so connectivity kit v2 is better for those)
