Flashing A Benq With A Uli Chipset?
« on: November 07, 2007, 07:36:00 PM »

Hi, ive flashed a few Hitachis using my on-board SATA which makes use of a ULi chipset. However, are there any chances of me being able to flash a Benq with my onboard chip? If not when will Benqs be compatible with ULi chips?

try getting the SATA address from MSINFO32 (start - run - msinfo32 - components - storage - scsi - the last 4 letters/numbers from the 1st 0x0000 address you see)... than try reading one benq..

I've a Via3120 and it's not on the list.. but it works..

Bu thats the thing.... It's not a VIA its ULi chipset. Im wondering if it worth voiding the warranty to find out if it works with ULi or holding off until I can get confirmation.

Try it and find out. People may theorize it won't work but you never know till you try.

Dosflash works wonderfully with most chipsets IF you use the VCC method.

If you dont want to use the VCC method, then you're going to need a nForce or VIA chipset.  Those are the only two that have been proven to work.
