Hitachi V79fk Doesn't Read Any Type Of Disc Anymore
« on: November 06, 2007, 04:19:00 PM »

My friend has bought over an Elite console for me to see what was wrong with it. I place a game in it (Gears & Halo) and neither one plays. It just gives "Unplayable disc". I tried a DVD movie & a Music CD and the same thing happens.

I started thinking and told him that he'd have to buy another drive and spoof it as a 79fk along with buying a Maximus chip. He's willing to do that but first I just need to know if anybody knows if I could still be able to retrieve the key from the drive so I can move it to another drive? I assume that since the 360 can detect when the drive is open and closed that it still has power going to it and it's just the laser is dead.

Thanks for any help  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
