Samsung Ms28, How To Flash From Slow To Fast Ixtreme?

I originally flash my Samsung Ms28 drive with the slow version of the Ixtreme fw. My question is can I simply create hacked fw for fast from orig.bin and flash without using another other steps. Or do I have to restore orig.bin to the drive?
