Blaster/xeno Working With Benq Drives?
« on: November 05, 2007, 12:11:00 PM »

Hello,
Does anyone know for sure if Blaster, Blaster NE, or Xeno works with the BenQ drives?  I've done a lot of searching and couldn't find a conclusive answer.

Thanks,

I'm pretty sure they don't work with BenQ but they might release one soon that does. I think the current ones only work with LG-Hitachi and Toshiba-Samsung.

Thanks for the reply Paddy.  Has anyone personally tried these products with the BenQ?  What are people with BenQ drives doing now that the ixtreme firmware is out, opening up your 360 with every update?

yes, that's what i always do. Takes 1 or 2 minutes to open the case, and closing it takes even less. So i'll save my cash for something else!

And so many updates aren't there, i've flashed 1.1 fast and i'll stick with that till there's a real update. I don't like the quiet firmware since i've had much problems with the quiet firmware on a samsung.

The Blaster360 does work with the BenQ drives. I haven't used it myself since I haven't flashed my drive yet but I researched it and read that it was even possible to use it before the firmware was out but there was no point since there was no firmware.

Hahah, now I'm unsure.

There has to be someone who has first-hand experience and can conclusively say whether it works or not.

Check the latest package from c4e, he now has picked up on our complaints and has multispeed firmwares for BenQ.

same here, have blaster360 installed with BenQ
I tested reading the flash with Blaster360 and that works,
I just don't need to reflash an already flashed BenQ, but if reading works, I'm pretty sure writing does as well.
PS, I used Samsung settings to read.

I have one of the Halo 3 limited editions 360s that came with the BenQ drive.  I have successfully read and wrote firmware through a Blaster 360 NE.

Can you please tell me what settings you used on the blaster 360 to flash the benq?
