I have recently flashed a Hitachi and when i tried to flash a Hitachi 47DH it wouldn't play backups, the backups work in other Hitachi 5.

          So i run mode b and the 48DH shows up in my computer as drive D:
 I run dos and flash with "IXtreme.v1.2Rev.2Forhitachi.gdr-3120l-xbox360-thanks"
     I have a sata that connects to a cadbus sata card on my laptop.
        It seems to flash fine gets to 100 and says pass/done
 i hook drive back up and it boots originals but wont play backups.
I restored to original and tried again but no luck still wont play backups..
Any help??

bad media or burning to fast or games arent stealth patched.

      Well im using verbatim dvd+r dl, and im burning at 2.4x, with img burn,

I turn computer on Take the slax cd out, close xbox tray takes two pushes of the button to close get a blinking light drive opens after a few seconds, so mode B is good, i go into my computer drive is under D:, but it doesnt say drive information unless i go to devices under my computer, if i click properties it just says dvd drive.. but i know its the right drive because i have no other drive attached.. im using a sata cable to a cardbus sata, I go to cmd type the command to flash drive it goes through and gives me pass/done. i turn xbox off. plug sata cable back to xbox, power up. put in original and it runs fine, put in backup and it spins up and says disc unreadable, put in another backup and its disc unreadable, tried a handful of backups all unreadable, i put the same backups that are all stealthed check with dvdmullet
                      they work in hitachi 5. im using the same firmware as the hitachi 5, the same procedure, but the 47dh will not read backups, the hitachi 5 will.

I read about some batch updates im going to try and restore the firmware and flash again and see if im getting any errors during the flash.
  I found this and im wondering if this could be the same problem i am having.. hopefully the batch updates will solve my problem... Other things ive read suggest to try to restore until i dont get any errors "DeviceIOControl() failed 0
failed to execute flasher (sense: 05/26/00)" im pretty sure i had these erros in the flash of the 47dh, so ill restore until i dont get any errors reboot the computer, and reflash until i dont get any errors,
 im also going to assign the drive a letter instead of the auto assign and see if this helps.

I have the same problem with a hitachi 47dh will run originals, gives me the same error, wont play any backups. The firmware works perfect with a hitachi 59, and all my backups run with the 59, but when i put them in the 47dh it says disc unreadable or unplayable or something like that.. ? Any help?

your lens might be bad, try pottweaking (search the forums)

I restored and reflashed this time no errors..
            but same problem originals work fine, backups say unplayable disc.. ill try the pot tweak,

Originals, Movies, and Music all work without a problem,

 BACKUPS SAY UNPLAYABLE DISC.
             
       CANT FIND URL TO POT TWEAK Tutorial, they all have back links.. ??

well i think the pot tweak fucked me over now i can't run orignals and it gives me open tray whenever i put a disc in... thats not good...  now what.. i also got a screen when i put in an original it said... " put this cd in an xbox360 to play..

So now "open tray" on all media. Guess i should throw it away.. shitty thing is.. its not even my xbox... i did the flash perfect on mine.. guess ill have to give mine away..

working on a Hitachi  GDR-3120L Ver 0046DH...I have put the drive in modeB and it will not show up in Windows, when i do try Dos with turning the drive off and on, it still hang with no action....

Any idea of what would help my situation here, gladly appreciate any help?

Can't see any x360 (even after modeB) Drive in Windows!

I have Windows Xp with AMD CPU and VIA VT6421A PCI for all my Flash, but yet i have not been able to see no x360 drive in Widows Xp...when ever i attempt it will freeze windows..

I have try using a different computer and same result, but in Dos i am able to flash all flushable drive.
Dos mode works fine for me, with some time having to turn off x360 drive...

Hitachi's don't work will with Via cards , try an onboard one or a usb/sata adapter .

make sure jumpers are set properly on card and try different ports on card. I know the rosewill 212 which is 6421A by default is the 2 inside ports. I swicthed it to 2 outside ports and works perfectly. For hitachis I can use any of the two for the samsungs can only use rear one (have no clue why). Make sure and check jumpers.

sooo i tryed to pot tweak and my drive no has open tray on all media, backups and orginals, it wouldnt play backups orginally so i tried to pot tweak, and now it wont even play orignals, it wont even spin the disk up... so as far as this thread goes, im re hijacking my post...  i havent had much help and im pretty stumped...

The Card is VT6421A 0536CD PCI to SATA....with two LED...label SLED1 (green) and PLED1 (red)...i don't know if that would help identified the card.......No jumper on this card....

I have tried different ports in the past....it has an ide, sata1, sata2, and sata3..makN it four ports...the port that gets recognizing by windows or Dos is sata1, the other ports don't get notice....

sata1 is the one it freeze on in windows or dos on the hitachi 46dh.....

I am fixing a bad flash done by someone else....I have flash benq, samsung...never hitachi...

I am more of a solder person....

Well am using it with a KT3 Ultra2 MS-6380E motherboard wich is an AMD CPU.....I think the card has some issues.....I took the card over to another motherboard Intel and it does the same thing in windows too...

funny thing while in dos or linux it works ok, but not with the Hitachi 46DH...
