What's the latest best way to fix this? All the posts I've seen have been fairly old, and I can't find any pictures/tutorials about the rubberband fix or pot tweaking. Don't know if I overlooked them or what.

Before flashing, everything was working perfectly.

I flashed my ms28 using the bad flash method with iXtreme firmware 1.2c (fast)

Working: All DVDs (movies), CDs, and originals & backups of - Project 8, Bioshock, and Beautiful Katamari, and Dead Rising original

open tray error: Jericho original and backup

"to play this disc..." error: Dead Rising backup, Two Worlds original and backup

Should I try to reflash using the quiet firmware, or the rubberband or pot trick?

id try quiet version first if still problems then try pot trick here is link

thanks, but...

tried quiet firmware, different combinations of rubberband and pot tweaking between 4.1 (original pot setting) & 2.8, nothing changed a damn thing. my drive sucks ass (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif)

any other suggestions?

Hey,

I had the same issue MS28. I installed the quiet ixtreme 1.2c and did the pot tweak. It helped the main issue was I had changed my DVD burner. Take a look at your media and your burner. I also started burning everything at 1X. Maybe this will help.

right after I posted that last one, I tried a couple at 1x. It said they were burning at 2.4x anyway, but they worked. Weird. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blink.gif)
