when i'm in dos i put this command in
dosflash r 000d 1 a0 1 4 c:\orig.bin 0
when it asks the question i put y then it says 0X00. i turn 360 off count to five seconds turn back on wait 2 seconds turn off count to 5 again then turn on but nothing happenes.
when i try xp i turn 360 on when it xp then i open up dosflash, it askes the question i press yes turn 360 off then turnback on after 5 seconds nothing happens just hangs there again why is this happening??? thanks

Neither of the keys are correct.  You have a very different looking firmware from all the others that i had looked at when writing the app. So, either you have a partially bad dump (which i dont know, all the versions strings and serial exist in correct locations) or it just another fw revision.  I'm surprised that this is the first we've had an issue if this other fw exists out in the wild.  I will patch your benq-ix.bin and PM you with a link.  I'll have to make a 'firmtool' revision with additional checks to avoid this issue.

Did it work alinush?? I'm curious

And if so, caster, what did you have to do to it in case someone else has this problem? What happened when he tried to do it all that made it not work?

I will go later to somebody that have a compatible card so we can flash it again. Right know he have several other consoles to flash, and after that is my turn  (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .
It should work, i hope so.

His firmware is structured differently and the checks that firmtool does and 360fwtb found a 'false' key location.  It met the criteria of both of our checks

So, if it works (which it should), i'll revise the firmtool code with an additional check to ensure that this issue doesnt come up again.  Then i'll have the iXtreme package revised with the new firmtool.

Awesome sounds good..

Quick question: if you dump/read your original firmware, and look at the key in Toolbox 4.5, and then you use the cmd command to make the new iXtreme FW from that original, and then look at that new FW's key in Toolbox... as long as it's the same as the original FW's key that you just looked it, then it should work fine after flashed, right?

I am having a wacky issue in which the Flash went good , the firmware keys match and i flashed benq-ix.bin to my drive. my originals play but my backups do not. Could it be when i did my backups that i did
the no video partition method or i believe it's blank video partition.

any help would be appreciated. uhh.gif

If it is not asking me the MTK question, is it safe to assume it is not detecting my drive for some reason, or am I doing something wrong?  I have the correct CC00 value and everything too.

Not in the above case.  Both firmtool and 360 Firmware Toolbox were finding and would copy the wrong key.  If the rest of the firmware is valid, but you get an issue playing originals, then i would check the firmware by hand, in hex.  The above issue wouldnt have been found unless you looked in hex, no matter what firmware application you tried.

Didn't you mean a:\orig.bin? Also think about the fact that the port "000d" is just One of the two SATA-ports on your motherboard, the other one has a whole other port. And are you doing it in this sequence..?

type the dosflash16 command
answer yes on the question and get a "0x7F" status
turn on the 360 and wait for the status to start changing inbetween 0x51 and 0xD1
turn off the 360, the status'll stop at 0xD1
wait 2 seconds (I counted to three slowly) and turn the 360 on, and it'll start reading

...Did you do it like this?

Your backups are not properly stealthed.  Check the images with xdvdmulleter (if you still have them), if not, make another backup then check with mulleter.

xdvdmulleter can check the backups as well straight off the discs if I remember correctly. give that a try if you don't have the images anymore.
