Nice, finally a DVD mod chip that is worth having, if I was to have a backup 360 then I would probably install this in case I ever wanted to go on Live with original games in a full retail environment (non hacked firmware).
I really dont understand why people think this is a safer alternative.
...Its really not.
I think people presume that since there is a physical device instead of rewriting the dvd-rom's bios, that it adds more protection.
It does not.
Its very surprising that people still think with this mentality when the xbox1 has already explained this all for us. Do you think that modchips offered more protection? Because they didnt. They were banned from xblive just like TSOP flashes were.
The entire point is that modchips are not needed for xbox360. Not in any way shape or form, as of right now. Everything that can be done with a modchip, is actually done *better* by a internal firmware change. If you guys think the security is better on the chip, then you should research more.
As for disabling of the lan, so what? What happens when there is a kernal update that attempts to read upon boot? Disabling the lan aint gonna help you a bit there. But the protection in ixtreme has many, many safeguards that NME does not.
