We have been silent for the last few months in order to continue our developments to meet the new market needs.

wtf!! yeah u've been silent for the last few months until C4EVA released his newest iXtreme, right?

QUOTE
The result of our long and hard work is the birth of NME-360 v2.0 which is a fully upgradable DVD-drive mod for the Xbox360.

that's wrong it's the result of others' hard work not yours.

QUOTE
It supports all Samsung MS25 + MS28 drives, all Hitachi 46 - 79 drives (FL and FK) and all BenQ drives.

sure it does! 'cuz it's just a ripoff.

QUOTE

Once a new Xbox360 DVD-drive hits the market it will be an ease for the customer or wholesaler to upgrade the chip to make it compatible to that new drive too.

Pardon them  dry.gif  they meant "once a new firmware for a new Xbox360 DVD-drive hits the market it will be an ease for the customer or wholesaler to upgrade the chip to make it compatible to that new drive too."

What a coincidence ha??

What a rip-off!

Am I the only one that noticed the spelling and grammar errors? Seems kind of unprofessional if you ask me.

Why would anyone use this anyway? It has already proven in the past to be no more safe than the regular 'ol firmware.

I don't see why everyone's complaining?

It's not like they will sell a bunch anyway.  I look at it as something better for a 79 fk/fl owners to use.  I mean the passkey is a cheaply made piece of shit.  The PCB of the passkey is so thin and cheap, the thing is fragile, you wonder why they work half the time too (heard rumors of people buying several and getting several bad ones)

It's not like they ripped off C4E or anything, they probably only released it after the Benq firmware was out to help get sales while they can.  I mean to the average user whats easier?  A softmod just by connecting the drive to your PC and flashing the FW or soldering a chip to a bunch of pain in the ass points on the drive board?  Most users will still use the firmware flashing method.  Most people aren't good enough to solder to the small points on the board.

Its not like they figured out how to do the Benq after C4E did it within 24 hours or whatever.  The Benq looks so easy to do too.  Its only 4 solder points and thats it.   Same thing for samsung.  Also this has the same amount of solder points as the passkey does.   Wait I think its 2 or 3 more.

Personally I feel that flashing your FW is safer, you never know if they will be able to detect these chips.

wow, why is everyone hating on this product. i think its wonderful that they made this, you now dont even need to worry about the whole iXtreme FW anymore, as this chip hides your firmware anyway, you can do many extra things with it for extra safety, relax, if you dnt like it, dont buy it, i think its wonderful. one question, how do u actually update the chip?

As Iriez stated, they obviously waitied and ripped off c4e's benq iXtreme firmware.  So, i wouldnt say that it is any more safe (doesnt hide the firmware anymore than iXtreme) or a better firmware by any means.  It can be setup to disable the LAN when going online, which would be the only additional feature i can see.  AFAIK, you cant update the firmware, which is another downfall of this chip.

Yes, obviously they knew how to do it before, but DIDNT have the firmware to support the drive.  Figuring out the pinout is the easy part. Thats why it was conveniently released 24 hours after iXtreme was released.

The reason everyone is hating this product is because they are using other people's free work as a way to make money, plain and simple.

So let me get this straight, all those guys dis-ing this can turn off their network (disable live) with the ixtreme firmware hack only?

Plus surely there are a lot of good points to the idea of never touching your console drive bios - and instead adding an alternative.

Nice, finally a DVD mod chip that is worth having, if I was to have a backup 360 then I would probably install this in case I ever wanted to go on Live with original games in a full retail environment (non hacked firmware).

Try puttting www in front of their site name, didn't work for at work from the link but did after I put that.

Some people might like the idea of being able to disable the chip, after all, everyone has their originals of ALL of their games to play online and save their console for any bans and can use their backups for the kids to play, etc, RIGHT???

I'm just curious if its still using their format of disc or it will burn any disc now?  I think they went with their format because of the smaller wire count, so it still maybe their disc format, not sure.  If so, that'll be the big downside is that everyone would to re-rip their games.

So then you don't like people that flash other people's xbox 360 for money?  They are making money off "other people's free work".

Its the way of the world, make money off other people.  If you find a way to do it, then do it.  Free money is the best money.

At least you know you are getting a good quality product that works on multiple drives.  The only bad part is it doesn't flash the drive.  I would rather have something of this quality, then a pass key thats paper thin.

Every chip except the first one is usually based off someone else's work for all the consoles.  Look at the Wii, first cracked openly, now many different chips can you buy based off that work.  There is only so many ways to mod something, once someone else find its, its copied, cloned and sometimes made better.  Sucks, buts that's the way this business works.

This seems like a pretty good deal for people who end up with a Hitachi 79 like me.  I ordered a 79 passkey a while ago and have no idea if/when it will arrive.  I just wish this were available when I ordered so I'd have another option.  This will probably also drive down the price of the overpriced passkey.  Since I have to do the soldering anyway, it would have been nice to not have to mess with connecting my xbox to my PC.
